Having worked within the IT industry now for since the late nineties, my career has spanned a variety of roles ranging from Information Security, SecOps, Security Consultancy and more recently Security Architecture.
 
With those came a desire to help businesses identify issues and develop appropriate solutions. Whether it was reviewing privileged accounts, carrying out technical reviews of security platforms, auditing against specific standards or designing the implementation of a new product, I’ve been fortunate to experience the challenges faced by the business side and the impact security control measures can have.
 
Building good security requires empathy and trust within a company. It can never be a tick box exercise or a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but requires a risk-based approach, ensuring little to no impact across business functions., so started up Security Ninja to bring all those skills and knowledge together and help others with their security journey.
 
But why should you use my services?

Years of experience have taught me to remain inquisitive, ask the right questions and go down those rabbit holes that will often uncover areas for improvement, and in some instances prevent security incidents from occurring within minimal change and effort.

Throughout my career I've always prioritised doing the right thing. If something appears wrong, then I'll raise it. Honesty and integrity are paramount to how I approach situations and work with stakeholders.

I listen, and will always consider both sides when discussing or negotiating with peers or 3rd parties, building trust and strong relationships to ensure we work as a team and not an opposing force.

But most of all, I genuinely love what I do. Helping others achieve their goals, simplifying tasks and finding the most suitable route to a successful outcome is what drives me.
​
On a separate note, I'm also a qualified Mental Health First Aider, with a great deal of experience of supporting colleagues and peers. So more than happy to provide any advice or support during any engagements.
